2019 Spring Trip to Sweden Complete

Arrived in Tucson late last night from our 2019 Spring trip to Sweden. Spending lots of time with our three beautiful granddaughters never get old. Scout is now 6 and speaks both Swedish and English well. She at times acted as our interpreter, the Swedish adults enjoyed seeing a little girl do that for her grandparents!

We took a 2 day side trip to the Swedish island of Gotland. Visby’s old town is definitely old Europe ! Cobblestone streets, quaint shops, charming restaurants, and great pubs with delightful beer!

The trip is a three hour ferry trip out of Nynäshamn. The cost is very reasonable, as Jesper told me the ferry’s are part of the highway system, thus the government keeps the cost down.

May 6th, 2019 2 weeks down, 2 weeks to go!

This trip we’re finding out about the beginning of the midnight sun, we’re not quite there yet, but by 4:30am it’s pretty bright out! Abby and I got out last week to Skansen, the Stockholm natural history park and zoo. We’ve been there often , always planning to have dinner, and of course we have Swedish meat balls, mashed potatoes, and lingonberries, which is always a must when we come here!

Now for some more photos!

2019 April

Spring flowers, grandkids, family brings Abby & I to Sweden.
Beautiful sunrise from our rental!
The girls are growing! Just yesterday Scout and I went shopping and had pizza for lunch. It was the first place I experienced that they did not speak English, but no problem Scout placed our order, cheese, mushrooms, black olives, it was great!

The days get up into the mid 50’s°, sweat shirt weather, sky’s are blue, the bays are calm, neighborhoods quiet, all is good!

I will be sending this blog out to friends and not posting this on Facebook!

I’ll conclude today with a picture collection.

Leftovers & Cleanup

The last day & night is upon us, we’ll be heading back to Arizona via Newark, Houston, and then Tucson, Becca, Scout, & Ru will be leaving a few hours after we leave. Our flight is at 9 AM,  we land at 8PM or so. That will make it a 18 hour day, but our own beds will be waiting for us!

Grandparents can appreciate seeing your Grandkids after not seeing them for a while, hopefully the next time will be sooner than later!
